Third Place Cafe
Crossroads Christian Church
Third Place Cafe is the original project that Michael developed by investing his own time, money, and talents. The goal was to create a place where people could slow down and connect to one another. There are countless stories of lives that are changed at Third Place Cafe due to the relaxing and safe experience that has been created.
Redeemer Lutheran Church
Fort Collins, CO
“Redeemer Lutheran Church seeks to be a warm and welcoming community of Christians.” TPC worked with Belford Watkins Group to layout a space that could be used as an effective third place. This location features views and connection to the community.
Central Christian Church
Working in collaboration with the architects, we were able to guide the concept and cafe location with the challenge of fitting this Third Place environment into an extensive remodel and new construction project.
Moraine Valley Church
Located in the suburbs and near busy commuting streets, Third Place Consulting assisted Moraine Valley in creating a cafe environment that serves the internal needs of the church and also has become a comfortable and familiar place for the community to gather.
Rock Bridge Community Church
Rock Bridge Church is truly changing a city from the inside out through their amazing efforts to restore and bring life back to downtown Dalton. Located inside a restored building, this cafe venue will serve the church’s satellite campus as well as become a true ‘third place’ for the local community. This project was in collaboration with Living Stones Architecture.
Bel Air Cafe
Bel Air Presbyterian Church
Beverly Hills, CA
Michael helped Bel Air Pres develop a cafe vibe with a mobile espresso cart in 2003. Seeing the connecting and conversational power that coffee brought to the campus, the church contacted Third Place Consulting in order to create a permanent location in their new building phase. Located between famous Mulholland Drive and the beautiful San Fernando Valley, this cafe seats 20 inside and literally hundreds on the outside patio overlooking the San Fernando Valley.
Tom Williams Lexus
A guest lounge and coffee bar ’space’ had been developed, but was in need of going to another level. Third Place Consulting was able to turn the ’space’ into a ‘place’ where people wanted to be. Whether considering a purchase or waiting on their cars to be serviced, guest at TWL now had a place to enjoy a true ‘Lexus-level Experience’ from the quality of coffee and pastries to the development of a common concierge turned ‘Lexus Bartender’.
Messiah Lutheran Church
Journeys is the result of an amazing team of church and lay leaders. Third Place Consulting guided MLC from concept to operations to ensure things were done right the first time. The leaderships of MLC get it. Strategically placed on the side of the building near a major intersection, Journeys is equipped with both a sweet vibe inside and a stellar drive-thru option for commuters.
Church of the Highlands
Highlands Cafe is located at Michael’s home church. Third Place Consulting stepped in during the Architecture Phase to ensure proper design for ergonomics and efficiency – as well as develop a preliminary feasibility plan and concept recommendations that align with the church’s vision.
